Recently, we completed a major radio advertising campaign for a small client located in North Seattle. The company is part of a national franchise firm with several agencies in the mix. This caused their message to be jumbled and ineffective. After listening to a google of spots all trying to outdo each other, I soon realized that their stations or agencies were more focused on being clever or cute. I thought we might try a novel approach and develop a spot designed to add dollars to the bottom-line. We did just that. Here’s what we did: 1. We developed a creative approach that was simple, compelling and called for immediate action. 2. We threw out all the clever sound effects and shared honest enthusiasm with the listener. 3. We bought spot time at a good rate and focused on a select group of listeners rather then spread them and try to reach everyone. In addition, newspaper advertising in the local editions were run to back up the radio.
Radio in the Seattle-Tacoma market works very effectively. People spend time out within cars commuting, and their companion is the radio. Follow the above basics
and work with an agency dedicated to buying bottom-line rates or un-used
radio inventory and you may find the Seattle-Tacoma radio advertising
adding peak to your bottom-line too!
